Frequently asked questions
More info About Double Glazing
Find out more about Double Glazing and how it can benefit you.
What is Double Glazing?
Double glazed windows are essentially two panes of glass with a vacuum between them. The trapped air creates insulation that prevents heat loss or gain through the window because the air temperature cannot penetrate the vacuum and therefore bounces back.
How is Double Glazing Manufactured?
Double Glazing is made by adding a spacer bar between panes of glass and then heat-sealed. Desiccant within the spacer bar helps prevent any condensation.

What are the benefits of Double Glazing?
- Reduces the flow of incoming and outgoing heat.
- Reduces energy bills
- Provides improved insulation
- Keeps your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer
- Reduces (incoming and outgoing) noise levels
- Added security
- Reduces greenhouse gas emissions from your heating and cooling, thereby lowering your carbon footprint.
- Saves you money by reducing costs spent on warming or cooling your home.
- Increases the value of your home
What are Georgian Bars?
Georgian Bars are bars that are fitted inside double glazing, creating the look of cottage panes
What are Integral Blinds?
Integral blinds are blinds that are sealed between the two panes of glass in a double-glazed or triple-glazed window unit. This way, integrated blinds in windows are protected from dust, dirt, and damage.
